TRADITIONAL KICHWA CERAMICS

Ceremonial Mucawa

Also on display, will be traditional Mucawa bowls brought from a Kichwa community along the
Napo River in Ecuador. These pieces have been shipped from Ecuador specifically
for this exhibit and highlight the centuries-old tradition of creating intricately designed pots for
ceremonial purposes and shattering them afterward in order to offer the clay back to the earth,
representing the circle of life.
